Creating the circle

From the map, tap New circle. The assistant runs in a few steps:

1. Name and colour. “Martin family”, “Flat share”, “Football crew”: the name is what members will see, the colour tells this circle apart from the others on your map.
2. Shared places. Pick from your favorite places the ones the circle will use, home, school, the holiday house. You can add more later from the circle.
3. Your sharing. What members will learn about you: Everything, Circle places, Latest position or Off. This choice applies to you only and can be changed at any time; every member makes their own when they join.
4. Invitations. Your contacts already on Fenzly receive an invitation directly in the app. For the others, generate a code or a link.

You are this circle’s guardian: you manage its members and places.

Inviting

• Direct invitation: from the circle, pick a Fenzly contact, they receive a card in their conversations and accept or decline.
• Code or link: generate an FZ-… code and send it through any channel you like. When the person uses it, you receive a request to confirm: nobody enters without a guardian’s consent. The code is valid for seven days and about ten uses (guide Join a circle with a code).

A child is not invited any differently: they first enter as a member, then a guardian designates them as a child (guide Turning on child mode).

Living with the circle

• Members: each member sees the others according to what they share. A guardian can appoint another guardian, remove a member, or step down from the role, as long as at least one guardian remains.
• Places: shared places are detected on every member’s phone; only guardians edit their definition (guide Organising my places).
• Notifications: in the circle, choose for which members and which places you want to be told about arrivals and departures.
• Conversation: every circle has its own end-to-end encrypted chat, where live shares land too.
• SOS: the circle is part of your SOS alerts by default; a switch lets you exclude it, except for a child member.

Several circles

Create as many as you have groups: the close family, the grandparents, a couple of two, a bunch of friends for a weekend. A person can be in several circles at once; what you share with each one stays independent.

Leaving or deleting

Leave the circle removes you from the member list: the circle’s places you had starred stay with you, the others are removed from your device. The last guardian cannot leave before appointing another one. Delete the circle, guardians only, removes it for every member, permanently.
