Does Fenzly record my trips?

Only if you ask it to. It all depends on the recording mode chosen in the settings:

• Simple: Fenzly only notes your arrivals and departures at your favorite places. No trip, very little battery.
• Detailed: Fenzly can record your movements, either on demand from the map with “Start a trip”, or automatically when it detects that you are moving, for the kinds of movement you tick: car, bicycle, on foot, running, bus, train. The transport mode is recognised during the trip.

A recorded trip keeps its route, duration, distance, speeds and elevation, in the Trips tab. It lives only on your phone, and you can correct or delete it.

Your people only see a trip if you share “Everything” with their circle. They then see a line in their feed, “Trip 22 min · 9.4 km”, with no detail. If you turn on Detailed trips for that circle, they can also open the trip: route, speeds, elevation. Everything leaves end-to-end encrypted; the server knows nothing of it.
